Uganda

Map of UgandaAlthough stability is slowly being restored across Uganda, the history of civil war, violence and famine has left its mark on the landscape.

Oasis first began work in Kampala, Uganda's capital, and since then its work has expanded and we are now using our expertise and experience to establish work in Mbale.

See Oasis in action!

One of our supporters recently made a short film about our work in Uganda - hopefully it will give you a clearer idea of what we're up to!

Andrew's Story

Andrew

Andrew is the second born in a family of four children. From the time his father passed away, Andrew's elderly mother did all she could to pay for his school fees but when she became unable to pay them any longer, Andrew had to work extra hours to pay for himself. Through the small amount he could earn, Andrew managed to see himself to Senior Four but could not afford to go any further. It was at this point that Andrew heared about Net2Work

He was very interested in learning the basic principles in computing so he put in an application and was accepted onto the course, where he explains;

"Within three months of training, I acquired knowledge and skills in basic computing. After my training, I applied at Net2Work to work in the maintenance department and with the wages I get, I am able to supplement what my brother brings home for food and basic needs. The skills I have will help me get a better job and I'll be able to send my young siblings go school. I have a dream of becoming a professional computer engineer and I believe God will bring it to pass in my life time."
